EZ-Load Disposable Tips

Apricot Designs offers the exclusive EZ-Load tips in a variety of formats to simplify semi-automated pipettor operation with disposable tips. When used together with an Apricot EZ-Load pipettor head, it is not necessary to use any additional tools or fixtures to load or unload tips. The EZ-Load tips simply drop directly into the head and are ready to use in seconds.

EZ-Load Tips for Apricot PP Series and i-Pipette Series Pipettors. The EZL tips are easily loaded into the following EZ-Load heads without the need for any tip-loading mechanism. These tips are compatible with the following head series:

  • 096-A-01-EZL-ESP (Use 96 tip racks. Use with 96 channel pipettors for 96 well plates.)
  • 096-A-01-EZL-SL-ESP (Use 96 tip racks, Swing Lock. Use with 96 channel pipettors for 96 well plates.)
  • 384-A-01-EZL-096 (Use 96 tip racks, offset. Use with 384 channel pipettors for 96 well plates.)

Strip Tips

EZ-Load "Strip Tips" for Serial Dilution for Apricot PP Series and i-Pipette Series Pipettors. The EZL Strip Tips are easily loaded into the following EZ-Load heads without the need for any tip-loading mechanism. These tips are compatible with the following head series for PP pipettors:

  • 096-A-01-EZL-SC for COLUMN serial dilutions. Use 8-strip tips for 96 channel pipettors for 96 well plates.
  • 096-A-01-EZL-SR for ROW serial dilutions. Use 12-strip tips for 96 channel pipettors for 96 well plates.
  • 384-A-01-EZL-SC for COLUMN serial dilutions. Use 16-strip tips for 384 channel pipettors for 384 well plates.
  • 384-A-01-EZL-SR for ROW serial dilutions. Use 24-strip tips for 384 channel pipettors for 384 well plates.
  • 384-A-01-EZL-096-SC OFFSET head for COLUMN serial dilutions. Use 8-strip tips for 384 channel pipettors for 96 plates.

ESP Disposable Pipette Tips (Patented in ISA, worldwide patents pending)

Apricot Designs has introduced proprietary technology known as the Externally Sealed Pipette tips. The external multiple flexible seal rings require little insertion/ejection force for loading/unloading of tips. By design, it eliminates the need of pressurized tip-loading mechanism and the use of O-rings.  This innovative approach greatly enhances seal integrity, system reliability and performance and at the same time reduces cost of maintenance.

For the TPS-series The ESP tips are automatically loaded and unloaded on the pipetting head. No manual loader is required providing simpler operation and allowing for extended walkaway automation with disposable tips.

ESP tips are available in 125µl, 50 and 15 µl versions. We also custom design and manufacture pipette tips for your particular application.

ESP Tips for Apricot TPS Series Pipettors. The TPS pipettor will automatically load and unload the correct number of tips required for the programmed operation. These tips are compatible with the following head series for TPS pipettors:

  • TPS24-A-01-ESP (for TPS-24. Used for 24-channel single-row pipetting or 12-channel single-column pipetting for 384 well plates.)
  • TPS24-A-01-ESP-12 (Offset head for TPS-24. Used for 12-channel single-row pipetting or 8-channel single-column pipetting for 96 well plates.)
  • TPS384-A-01-ESP (for TPS-384. Used for 384-channel pipetting to 384 well plates.)
  • TPS384-A-01-ESP-SC (for TPS-384. Used for 16-channel single column serial dilution pipetting to 384 well plates.)

High Volume Disposable Pipette Tips

Apricot also manufactures disposable traditional-style pipette tips for Apricot pipettors. We design and manufacture 550 µl disposable pipette tips made of premium research grade polypropylene.

550-UTW (Ultra Thin Wall) Pipette Tips

  • Highly hydrophobic -- minimum fluid retention
  • Thin wall at tip end -- increases accuracy
  • Small size at tip end -- ideal for 384 and 96-well labware
  • Sterilization -- autoclavable to 120C
  • High quality -- stringent manufacturing standards
  • Uniquely packaged -- racks individually packaged for cleanliness and ease of handling

 

The Apricot 550 tips are available in 2 types of packaging. The "R" packaging works with the EZ-Load heads but is not compatible for robotic automation. The "B" packaging fits the SBS microplate footprint standard and is compatible with robotic automation for tip box replacement on TPS pipettors. The "B" packaging also features a space-saving stacking design. Apricot 550-R tips can be loaded without any mechanical tip loader mechanism with the new EZ-Load pipettor heads. The user simply drops the rack of tips into the EZ-Load head and it is ready to be loaded onto the pipettor. Both tip packages feature a retention collar that keeps the tips in alignment while they are loaded on the pipettor head.
