384 channel pipettor serial dilutions to 96-well plate by column.

A specially-made offset serial dilution head is used with a 384 channel pipettor to perform serial dilutions to a 96-well microplate. In this case, the head has a single column of tips (blue) for column-to-column serial dilutions. The other pipettor channels (gray) are not used. Depending on the pipettor model, either the head can be moved over the plate as shown here, or the plate can be moved under the head. The capability to use a single multichannel pipettor for both 384-well pipetting AND serial dilutions is unique to Apricot Designs. Press the Play button to position the head over the plate, then pres the Play button again to see the simulation of a 6-step serial dilution.

Offset heads for column serial dilutions to 96-well plates using a 384 channel pipettor are available in fixed tip (stainless steel) or disposable tip format.
